The event moves to Sunday, November 3 due to calendar and logistics changes for the America’s Cup
From the organization of the Challenge Barcelona Triathlon, we want to announce an important date change for this year’s edition. The race, which was initially scheduled for October 27, will take place a week later, on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
The decision to modify the race date has been made due to changes in the calendar and logistics of the America’s Cup, which is held in Barcelona during the months of August, September, and October. This major event significantly affects the smooth running of the triathlon, impacting logistics, mobility, transportation, accommodations, and the population. The coincidence of these two major sporting events in the same city and on similar dates makes their coexistence impossible without compromising the quality and safety of the Challenge Barcelona Triathlon.
With this change, the Challenge Barcelona Triathlon becomes the last triathlon event of the year in Europe before the start of the new season, offering athletes a unique opportunity to close their competitive calendar in one of the most emblematic cities in sport.
The organization has already sent an email to all registered participants in the 2024 edition, offering the following options: keep the registration for the new date in 2024, transfer the registration to the 2025 edition or cancel the registration and receive a refund. Participants will have until June 25, 2024, to make any of these changes.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation. The organization remains committed to working hard to ensure that the Challenge Barcelona Triathlon continues to be a unique and special sporting experience for all participants.
Sincerely,
Challenge Barcelona Triathlon Organization
