Introducing the new running course, which promises speed and stunning views
With just 50 days left until the 2024 Barcelona Triathlon Challenge, the event has already surpassed 2500 entrants, approaching the limit of 3500 participants.
The competition, which will be held on November 3, will feature an exciting new running course. This year, athletes will be able to enjoy a renewed, faster circuit with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, making the experience an even more unforgettable challenge.
Among the most notable new features, the course has reduced the number of 180º turns, optimizing the layout to improve participants’ times. From kilometre 0 to the finish line, the triathletes will always be riding along the Mediterranean, enjoying the sea breeze and the proximity of the public who will be cheering them on throughout the entire route.
The new route passes through some of the most emblematic points of Barcelona, such as the Paseo del Bogatell, Nova Icària beach and Barceloneta. In addition, the athletes will pass by iconic places such as the Mapfre Tower, the Hotel Arts, the renovated Port Olímpic, the Balena Daurada, the historic Hospital del Mar and the impressive Hotel Wela.
Depending on the distance chosen, the athletes will do different laps of this route: 3 laps in the Short distance, 2 laps in the Olympic distance, 1 lap in the Sprint distance and 1 lap in the Junior Challenge. It should be noted that this new route will be applicable to all distances except for the Junior Challenge.
